C100: CSX using “facts” that are “just plain wrong” to justify VAT plans

The Committee of 100 on the Federal City, a non-profit advocating for responsible planning and land use in Washington, D.C., discovered that CSX used “facts….that are just plan wrong” to defend why they could not reroute trains from the Virginia Avenue Tunnel either temporarily during construction or permanently.

CSX cites non-existent choke points, ignores recent upgrades, and bases plans on other misinformation.

In light of this, the C100 requested a revised draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) from CSX that should be prepared “by an independent rail consultant.”
